Bilingual CPA (Spanish-English)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and client-focused Bilingual CPA to lead our growing Accounting and Tax Services department. This individual will serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of small business clients, many of whom are Spanish-speaking, providing bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, and tax services while delivering exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate will possess strong public accounting experience, advanced QuickBooks knowledge, expertise in payroll and tax preparation, and the ability to explain financial information clearly to business owners. This position offers a unique opportunity to build and lead a department, with plans to hire and mentor a Staff Accountant or Bookkeeper as the practice continues to expand.
This role is highly client-facing and requires a professional who is personable, consultative, and passionate about helping small businesses succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage a portfolio of monthly accounting clients, providing bookkeeping and advisory services.
- Maintain accurate client financial records utilizing QuickBooks.
- Categorize transactions and ensure proper account classifications.
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports for business owners.
- Review bookkeeping work to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Tax Preparation & Compliance
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns using Drake Tax Software.
- Assist clients with year-end tax planning and compliance.
- Gather and analyze financial information necessary for tax filings.
- Respond to client questions regarding tax and accounting matters.
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll and payroll-related filings for clients.
- Assist with payroll tax compliance and reporting.
- Provide guidance to clients regarding payroll best practices and employee-related matters.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for English and Spanish-speaking clients.
- Build strong relationships by providing outstanding customer service and timely communication.
- Conduct client meetings to discuss financial performance, accounting processes, and tax matters.
- Translate complex accounting concepts into easy-to-understand business recommendations.
Department Leadership
- Lead and oversee the Accounting Services department.
- Develop procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and client service.
- Recruit, train, and mentor future accounting staff, including Staff Accountants and Bookkeepers.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance and coaching.
- Ensure departmental deadlines and service standards are consistently met.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Leverage technology to improve accounting workflows and client service delivery.
- Utilize AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other emerging technologies to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Support implementation and optimization of new technology solutions, including AI-assisted bookkeeping platforms.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine accounting and reporting processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA Active in GA
- 5+ years of public accounting, client accounting services (CAS), or small business accounting experience.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Experience performing bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience processing payroll and payroll tax reporting.
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns using Drake Tax Software or similar tax software.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience managing client relationships in a public accounting environment.
- Experience utilizing AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude.
- Experience building processes within a growing accounting practice.
